There’s excitement on the track that big things are coming

Picture of FrontRunner 2X train pulling away from a station with a blue overlay and the text: More tracks, more trains, more often.

Introducing the FrontRunner 2X project that adds double tracking in 11 strategic locations along the existing FrontRunner corridor. More double tracking allows for more trains, whic means double the frequency. Think about it: you could catch a train every 15 minutes during peak travel time, cutting your waiting time in half!

Why do we need this project? Because we're on the fast track to the future. FrontRunner is already at 90% capacity during peak travel times and peak directions, and Utah is growing rapidly along the Wasatch Front - 43% growth expected by 2050.

When does everything begin? Early construction work may start in 2026, depending on federal grant funding.

Two tracks are better than one. Here’s why it’s a big deal.
